Piano transport between Gols and Ternitz links two places that could hardly be more different: Gols, east of Lake Neusiedl, is a well-known wine-growing community, while Ternitz lies in the Schwarza valley on the eastern edge of the Alps and is shaped by industry and a steelworks tradition. On the roughly 92-kilometre route the van does not drive through Vienna but passes it from east to south: from northern Burgenland into the Steinfeld near Wiener Neustadt and on into the Schwarza valley. The transport leg itself, at 92 kilometres, is much shorter than a drive via Vienna would be. The two ends differ: in Gols instruments often stand in house-and-courtyard properties with a driveway, in Ternitz more often in multi-storey apartment blocks, where lift, stairwell width and a stopping place in front of the building decide.
